As for the rest of my workshops, my goal is to offer you the best experience in the locations you will be visiting, that is why I will bring you to the best photography spots in the Dolomites

The group will meet at Milan Malpensa airport on the first day of this Dolomites Landscape Photography Workshop. All participants must arrive before 12pm so that we can start our journey right in the beginning of the afternoon. After eating a quick lunch, we will start driving towards the beautiful Dolomites. The drive will last about 3h to 4h. On our arrival we will make our first stop at lake Carrezza which is a unique blue colored lake surrounded by wonderful peaks. We will then head to our first accommodation where we will stay for 3 nights.

Our day will be organized around sunrises and sunsets, ensuring that we are at the right spot at the right time. We will also place some editing sessions on some days, either during the day or in the evening.

The schedule won't be set as we will plan our day based on the weather forecasts. It is fall, and therefore a rainy day can happen. But not to worry, the Dolomites are extremely resourceful, and in this case we will be able to photograph amazing dramatic atmospheres at some specific locations, normally relatively unattractive with good weather.

Good to know about Italy

  • Currency: the national currency of Italy in the Euro

  • Means of payment: In Italy you can pay in most places with your credit card, even for small amounts. Carrying cash is therefore not mandatory but in case of need automats will be found easily. Having an international credit card such as Revolut can be helpful to limit fees and enjoy a decent exchange rate.

  • Electricity: Italy uses types C, F and L plugs. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins, plug type F is the plug which has two round pins with two earth clips on the side and plug type L is the plug type which has three round pins.

  • Internet: Wi-Fi will be available in our accommodations. 4G is available in most places, even on mountain passes. If travelling from Europe, Italy is likely to be included in your data roaming. For people outside Europe, two options are available: either buying a simecard at the airport on arrival, or purchasing an international package with your current carrier. In any case, the use of the smartphone will be limited as I will ensure to keep you busy taking pictures.

FAQ

1. What is the fitness level required for this tour?

Although there won't be difficult hikes, some iconic spots require hiking up to an hour, such as Tre Cime di Lavaredo or Lago Limides. The hike to Laguna Federa is more difficult although not impossible.

Be reassured, no one will be left behind. In case the group is not comfortable with more difficult hikes, The tour will be adapted to fit everyone. However, iconic places such as Tre Cime di Lavaredo won't be skipped.

2. How will the weather be at that time of the year?

In October, the weather starts to cool down in the evening and in higher altitude while day temperature can be in the mid 10°C (50°F). Therefore, having warmer clothes, gloves and hat for the colder mornings and evenings is important. This is also the time of the year where the first snowfalls are likely, but mostly around passes.
